TUCK EVERLASTING

Winnie Foster (Alexis Bledel) is a girl in her early teens growing up in the small rural town of Winesap in 1914. Winnie's parents (Victor Garber and Amy Irving) are loving but overprotective, and Winnie longs for a life of greater freedom and adventure. One day, while exploring the nearby woods, Winnie gets lost, but she has the good fortune to happen upon the Tuck Family, who live nearby - mother Mae (Sissy Spacek), father Angus (William Hurt), and sons Jesse (Jonathan Jackson) and Miles (Scott Bairstow). The Tucks are warm and caring people, and Winnie feels right at home with them; she also finds herself developing a serious crush on Jesse, and isn't so sure she wants to return; meanwhile, her parents become increasingly distraught as they search for their missing daughter. But in time Winnie discovers there's a secret behind the seemingly idyllic lives of the Tuck Family; they have discovered a magical spring on their property, and anyone who drinks from it will never grow old and never die. While to Winnie this sounds like a wonderful prospect, the Tucks have come to understand this is as much of a curse as a blessing, especially when she realizes Jesse is considerably older than she is. The Tucks also have to contend with the presence of the sinister Man In The Yellow Suit (Ben Kingsley), who wishes to buy their property and make a fortune from their "fountain of youth."

---> life has all kinds of challenges, different things to encounter, weird experiences and some unexplainable occurrences. and in this movie, all that seem to have happened. a secret that a family had kept for so long and maybe never knew how long it has been. this movie is yet another remarkable way of portraying another love story. and like any love stories, there comes happy times and the troubled times. in this film, the trouble comes when you have to decide whether to be with the one you love but with a catch: to forever live, to never die. it would be so wonderful to be with the one you love eternally but i think it would be so boring to live forever. yes you can experience and see all the changes made from one generation to another but what's the point in that?? you'll meet a lot of new great people but i think only one true love is enough. the film really didn't have a happy ending but what was more important was the time when they met and experienced true love. i guess what really matters is not how long we live in this world but how we live each day and make it as if it were the last.

::: LINES :::

JESSE: Spend forever with me, Winnie?

ANGUS TUCK:
If there's one thing I've learned about people, it's that many will do anything, anything not to die. And they'll do anything to keep from living their life.

ANGUS TUCK:
What we Tucks have, you can't call it living. We just... are. We're like rocks, stuck at the side of a stream.

ANGUS TUCK:
Don't be afraid of death, Winnie. Be afraid of the unlived life.

NARRATOR: For some time passes slowly, an hour can seem an eternity. For others there's never enough. For the Tucks, it didn't exist.

NARRATOR:
Winnie Foster was beginning to lose track of time. Had she been there a day? A week? A month? It seemed to Winnie that the Tucks lived in a way the rest of the world had forgotten. They where never in a hurry and did things the slow way. For the first time Winnie felt free to explore, to ask questions, to play.

JESSE:
How am I supposed to take you home when I can't make my feet move from this spot? If I could die tomorrow I would, just so I could spend one more night with you.

WINNIE:
Jesse, don't let go!
JESSE: It's ok, it's ok. There's no chance of that, Winnie Foster. I'll never let you go

JESSE:
Winnie Foster, I will love you until the day I die!

J U M P E R

Based on the novel by Steven Gould, Jumper concerns David (Hayden Christensen), a young man who quite literally wills himself away from his grim family life by teleporting to another place with the power of his mind. Years later, David is using his powers to raid bank vaults, seduce girls in London, lunch on the pyramids, and surf in Fiji. But he soon discovers that he is not the only one bestowed with this unique gift, and all is not well in the world of jumpers. There are people out there, such as Roland (Samuel L. Jackson), who view jumpers as a threat to all humankind, and have made it their mission in life to eliminate them. After jumping back to Michigan to get reacquainted with his long lost love, Millie (Rachel Bilson), David makes the acquaintance of experienced jumper Griffin (Jamie Bell). Informed by Griffin of a secret between jumpers and a shadowy group that seeks to destroy them, the pair soon finds themselves facing off against a legion of murderous opponents who won't stop fighting until every last jumper has been eliminated.

---> i think this movie is just so cool. imagine you can have your breakfast at London or have your lunch at the pyramids then maybe dinner at Paris. anywhere you want. just picture it in your mind then there you are. and that would be so incredible even just thinking about it. you can go to one place if you get tired with the other. its like an exit to an old boring life to a more exciting and interesting one. i just love the concept of this movie. for me, it was just really creative and imaginative. its something new, something people would want to watch. well of course all this is impossible but who cares everyone has the freedom to dream and be where they wanna be even in the most weird yet amazing way.

::: LINES :::

DAVID RICE: Let me tell you about my day so far. Coffee in Paris, surfed the Maldives, took a little nap on Kilimanjaro. Oh, yeah, I got digits from this Polish chick in Rio. And then I jumped back for the final quarter of the N.B.A. finals--courtside of course. And all that was before lunch. I could go on, but all I'm saying is, I'm standing on top of the world.

DAVID RICE: Where do you want to go?
MILLIE: Surprise me.

HOTEL FOR DOGS

Adapted from author Lois Duncan's 1971 children's book of the same name, director Thor Freudenthal's Hotel for Dogs follows two mischievous orphans as they attempt to hide dozens of stray dogs in an abandoned hotel. Disheartened by their new guardians' announcement that pets are strictly forbidden, 16-year-old Andi (Emma Roberts) and her younger brother, Bruce (Jake T. Austin), race to find a home for their loyal dog Friday. Fortunately for Friday, there's an abandoned hotel just around the corner, and Bruce possesses just the kind of mechanical smarts needed to transform the rundown inn into a four-star retreat for canines. For a while, Friday and his friends have it made, but when the neighbors start to get suspicious, Andi and Bruce resort to every trick in the book in order to prevent their secret from being discovered.

---> it's a very cute movie especially to those who love dogs. it's a pretty interesting story as to how an abandoned hotel became a hotel for dogs. the idea was great and really cute. imagine a hotel for dogs, with spas, salons, restos etc. . the movie also was very creative as one of the main character here is really good in inventing things. he is very young yet very good at it. i was amazed of how they were able to bring up such ideas like making "so called" movie houses, or how their meals were served or the different games the dogs can enjoy. the story also dwells on the lives of two orphaned siblings dealing with their foster parents and how they value one another and their dog. the dog here somehow is the key that keeps them together, the one thing that they love and treasure besides each other.

THE BUCKET LIST

In Rob Reiner's "The Bucket List," corporate billionaire Edward Cole (Jack Nicholson) and working class mechanic Carter Chambers (Morgan Freeman) are worlds apart. At a crossroads in their lives, they share a hospital room and discover they have three things in common: a desire to spend the time they have left doing everything they ever wanted to do before they "kick the bucket," an unrealized need to come to terms with who they are - and terminal cancer. Together they embark on the road trip of a lifetime, becoming friends along the way and learning to live life to the fullest. Each adventure adds another check to their list, all done with insight and humor.

---> it's a good movie to watch for everyone. it is mainly about life. how two very different people dealt with dying. its really a good movie as to how a few months before resting in peace, you meet someone unexpectedly (needless to say in a hospital) who can bring joy in your life. personally, i liked the idea of strangers becoming friends changing each other's life even in a very odd and short span of time. its really very touching as to how they both gradually completed their list. the movie even showed some of the most famous tourist spots in the world. and i would definitely want to see it someday too. just the thought of dying is frightening but this film actually somehow made you forget about its darker side. it teaches you to live life to the fullest, do the things you want to do, and spend it with the people you love. might as well make my own "bucket list" and if i would be lucky hopefully, ill also be as rich as Edward Cole in the movie to make that list complete.

::: LINES :::

EDWARD COLE: The simplest thing is... I loved him. And I miss him. Carter and I saw the world together. Which is amazing... When you think that only three months ago, we were complete strangers! I hope that it doesn't sound selfish of me but... the last months of his life were the best months of mine. He saved my life... And he knew it before I did. I'm deeply proud that this man found it worth his while to know me. In the end, I think it's safe to say that we brought some joy to one another's lives, so one day, when I go to some final resting place, if I happen to wake up next to a certain wall with a gate, I hope that Carter's there to vouch for me and show me the ropes on the other side.

CARTER CHAMBERS: [in his letter to Edward] Dear Edward, I've gone back and forth the last few days trying to decide whether or not I should even write this. In the end, I realized I would regret it if I didn't, so here it goes. I know the last time we saw each other, we weren't exactly hitting the sweetest notes-certain wasn't the way I wanted the trip to end. I suppose I'm responsible and for that, I'm sorry. But in all honestly, if I had the chance, I'd do it again. Virginia said I left a stranger and came back a husband; I owe that to you. There's no way I can repay you for all you've done for me, so rather than try, I'm just going to ask you to do something else for me-find the joy in your life. You once said you're not everyone. Well, that's true-you're certainly not everyone, but everyone is everyone. My pastor always says our lives are streams flowing into the same river towards whatever heaven lies in the mist beyond the falls. Find the joy in your life, Edward. My dear friend, close your eyes and let the waters take you home.

CARTER CHAMBERS: Even now I cannot understand the measure of a life, but I can tell you this. I know that when he died, his eyes were closed and his heart was open. And I'm pretty sure he was happy with his final resting place, because he was buried on the mountain. And that was against the law.

THE BUCKET LIST:
  1. Witness something truly majestic
  2. Help a complete stranger for a common good
  3. Laugh till I cry
  4. Drive a Shelby Mustang
  5. Kiss the most beautiful girl in the world
  6. Get a tattoo

  8. Visit Stonehenge

T A K E N

Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson), a former government operative, is trying to reconnect with his daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace) . Then his worst fears become real when Kim and her friend are abducted by sex slavers shortly after arriving in Paris for vacation. With just four days until Kim will be auctioned off, Bryan must call on every skill he learned in black ops to rescue her.

---> it's an action-suspense-thriller film that will surely satisfy your craving for a good movie. I love this movie. even from the start, it was interesting already. it is generally about a father-daughter relationship, about how a father would do anything out of love for his daughter. it's a touching and heartbreaking film at the beginning. a lot of action scenes all throughout which is the part that i somewhat disliked from the movie (they were so brutal). but still it amazed me as to how only one man can do all the killing and fighting. the storyline was mainly outstanding. just the idea of how one person using his special skills from like re-enactments of the actual incident, finding clues, how he can just go in and out from an exclusive event, and how he easily traces the criminals with the given time of 96 hours. it somehow depicts reality, as to how dangerous the world can be. but then it also shows that we can rely on the most important persons in our lives. its a must watch film. you'll love it from start to end.

::: LINES :::

LENORE: I don't get you.
BRYAN: What?
LENORE: You sacrificed our marriage to the service of the country, you've made a mess of your life in the service of your country; can't you sacrifice a little one time for your own daughter?
BRYAN: I would sacrifice anything for her.

BRYAN: I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.
MARKO: [after a long pause] Good luck.

BRYAN: A friend gave this to me. Its Albanian. You mind translating it?
MARKO: [translates paper] "Good luck".
BRYAN: You don't remember me? We spoke on the phone two days ago. I told you I would find you.

13 GOING ON 30

Thirteen-year-old Jenna (Shana Dowdeswell) has had enough with the trials of adolescence. In addition to being saddled with a devoted-but-nerdy best friend, Matt (Sean Marquette), she falls victim to one of the dangers of playing Seven Minutes in Heaven with the coolest kids in school: being stranded without a willing make-out partner. Humiliated, Jenna buries herself in the aforementioned make-out closet, wishing she could skip the whole adolescence bit and move straight into adulthood, and miraculously wakes just weeks away from her 30th birthday. Of course, a lot has changed since going to bed the night before, not the least of which being an impressive set of womanly curves. The new, older Jenna (Jennifer Garner) is a successful magazine editor with friends in high places and a lion's share of potential suitors -- including a hockey-playing boyfriend and a swarthy married man. The problem is that her mind hasn't matured with her body; Jenna not only finds living on her own more terrifying than cool, but is quick to dismiss any male over the age of 14 as "gross." Half excited, half mortified, Jenna seeks out Matt (Mark Ruffalo), whom she learns she had spurned as a teenager in an effort to join the popular crowd.

---> a funny but an inspiring movie telling you that you don't have to skip parts of your life just so because something bad happened to you. a lot of younger people really wants to feel grown-up already; having to do adult stuffs like sleeping late, wearing make up, going out with friends and coming home late. i also felt that when i was younger but now that I've grown, it's like you wanted to turn back time, because it's really a pain to be an adult. being an adult means more responsibilities in life. we have to think of other people's lives unlike before when all that mattered were just toys, school and homework. it's really hard but that's part of life. and what's good about it is that we can learn a lot from these experiences, it helps us build a stronger, a more mature and a more faithful person within all of us. we can't definitely just be 13 y.o now and be 30 y.o tomorrow, we can never fast forward time. all we can do is to be patient and make most of our lives hoping that along the way, we gradually achieve all our dreams and be the person we wanted to be.

::: LINES :::

MATT: You can't just turn back time.
JENNA:
Why not?

JENNA: You want to know a secret?
MATT:
Yeah.
JENNA:
You're the sweetest guy I've ever met.

RICHARD:
Who's your daddy?
JENNA:
Wayne Rink!

JENNA:
I love you, Matt. You're my best friend.
MATT: I love you too, Jenna... I've always loved you.

JENNA:
Matty.
MATT:
Yeah?
JENNA:
Arrivederci.
MATT:I'll see you.
ENNA:
Matt!
MATT: Yeah? [she gives him a look]
MATT:
Au revoir.

JENNA:
Matt, stop being so nice to me. I don't deserve it. Do you know what kind of person I am now, I mean - do you know who I am right now? I don't have any real friends. I did something bad with a married guy. I don't talk to my mom and dad. I'm not a nice person. And the thing is - I'm not 13 anymore.

JENNA:
A Razzle, Mr. Flamhaff?
MATT:
Thank you, Mrs. Flamhaff.

PRINCESS DIARIES

This teen comedy from Disney is based on a popular novel by Meg Cabot and directed by Gary Marshall. Mia Thermopolis (Anne Hathaway) is a teenage klutz who's openly mocked by the popular Lana Thomas (Mandy Moore). In fact, Mia's only friend at her exclusive prep school is the socially outcast Lilly. Mia's life takes a dramatic turn, however, when her mom announces that her late biological father was in actuality the crown prince of a small European nation, Genovia. Now Mia is the sole heir to the throne, and her grandmother, Queen Clarisse Renaldi (Julie Andrews) wants to tutor the awkward teen in royal behavior. It's a daunting task given Mia's lax table manners, poise, and hair care, but the girl perseveres with some makeover help from her grandmother's security chief and a style expert. In the meantime, Mia's romantic affections are torn between the handsome, popular Josh (Erik Von Detten) and the more appropriate Michael (Robert Schwartzman), who also happens to be Lilly's brother.

---> i guess in every girl's heart there's always that dream of becoming a princess and in this movie that dream came true. Mia was just an ordinary girl not to mention a nobody. she was sort of the geeky girl who's being teased by the popular ones. but all that changed when she found out that she was a princess, a real princess. its also a funny movie with Mia being such a klutz at times making almost everyone worry if she will be fit of becoming a royalty. but with great perseverance, motivation, and a lot of training from her grandmother, everything went well. its really a big responsibility of becoming a princess thus made it really hard for Mia to decide to choose her extravagant life versus her simple ordinary life. its a good movie teaching us that we should take responsibilities in our life in order for us to grow. taking big steps in our life is a lot risky but putting our hearts into it will make it all worthwhile. Anne Hathaway also did a great job here. i think this is her big break in her career. its a great movie to watch especially to all the girls out there living their normal life but has big dreams inside of them.

::: LINES :::

MICHAEL: Why me?
MIA : Because you saw me when I was invisible.

JOE : [speaking to Mia] Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent.

MIA: Now, what did you want to tell me?
QUEEN: Something that, I think, will have a very big impact upon your life.
MIA: I already have braces.
QUEEN: No, it's bigger than orthodontia.

QUEEN: You are princess of Genovia.
MIA: Me, a princess? [shouts]
MIA: Shut up!
QUEEN: I beg your pardon, "Shut up"?
CONSULATE: Oh, your majesty, in America, it doesn't always mean to be quiet. Here it could mean "Wow, gee whiz, golly wolly"...

QUEEN : Helen, if Amelia refuses to accept the throne, then Genovia will cease to exist as we know it.
HELEN: So the future of your country is in the hands my 15-year-old?

MIA: You know most kids hope for a car for their 16th birthday, not a country!

MIA: [driving in the rain] Is this punishment for driving without a licensed driver in the front seat?
[lies down on the front seat]
MIA: I am invisible, and I am wet.

Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgment that something is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all.

JOE: Princess, look out the window, and welcome to Genovia.

LAST HOLIDAY

In this comedy, a woman learns to love life when she finds out she won't be around long. Georgia Byrd (Queen Latifah) lives in New Orleans, where she works in the cookware department of an upscale gourmet supply shop. While Georgia carries a torch for Sean (LL Cool J), one of her co-workers, she doesn't have the nerve to tell him, and despite her estimable skills in the kitchen, she lives frugally and doesn't put her talent to use. Georgia's good friend Rochelle (Jane Adams) often tells her that life is short and she needs to live a little, but she doesn't pay her much mind until a visit to the doctor reveals that Georgia has a very rare medical condition, and only has three weeks to live. Throwing caution to the wind, Georgia cashes out her life savings and heads to Europe for a last bit of revelry. She checks into a four-star hotel, trades her drab clothes for haute couture, finds herself flirting with a handsome and powerful politician (Giancarlo Esposito), convinces the head of a cooking supplies firm (Timothy Hutton) that she's a high-powered executive from a rival company, and makes friends with a four-star chef (Gérard Depardieu). But when Sean learns the truth about Georgia's condition, he sets out to find her before their chance at romance has passed. Directed by Wayne Wang, Last Holiday is a remake of a 1950 British comedy, which starred Alec Guinness as a salesman with a few weeks to live.

---> what are you going to do if you found out that you only have a few more weeks to live in this world? you cry yourself out? you'd go and tell everyone how much they mean to you? you do crazy things? well, for me, id do exactly what Georgia did in this movie. she has this book of possibilities wherein she wrote/compiled everything she ever wanted to do in her life. from having the man she adores, meeting her favorite chef, staying in at her desired hotel and many many more. its only normal if we have these ambitious dreams. its kind of having a motivation in life or like having a purpose. i was really envious of her after watching this movie cause everything she did was really cool and extravagant and i definitely want that too. its a good movie telling us not to waste a moment in our life, to do the things we want most in life and things that would make us happy.
it has a simple storyline but i would say its a worth watching movie. its a little dramatic, funny and uplifting.

::: LINES :::

GEORGIA: Next time... we will laugh more, we'll love more; we just won't be so afraid.

[Adamian is making Georgia listen to Kragen's CD]
Kragen'sVoice: Rule One: Life is not a popularity contest, but it is a contest. Boo-hoo, they don't like me. Rule Two: You grab that scared little loser inside you and you beat the living crap out of him. Rule Three: When is enough enough? Enough is *never* enough.
[Georgia takes the CD out and breaks it]

C L I C K

On the surface, Michael Newman (Adam Sandler) seems to have it all, yet with all the demands forced upon him by his ungrateful boss (David Hasselhoff), Michael finds that setting aside time to spend with his loving wife, Donna (Kate Beckinsale), and two picture-perfect children, Ben (Joseph Castanon) and Samantha (Tatum McCann), has grown increasingly difficult. When a frustrating bout with the television remote leads the overworked husband and father to a nearby Bed, Bath & Beyond in search of a universal remote with the power to control all of his electronic devices, a curious peek into the back room leads Michael into the company of eccentric employee and talented inventor Morty (Christopher Walken). It seems that Morty has created a device that will not only allow Michael complete control over his television and stereo, but his entire life as well. As Michael discovers that the remarkable device has the power to muffle the barks of the family dog, zoom himself past an irritating quarrel with his wife, and even allow him to travel back and forth through time to different points in his life, the rush of being able to skip straight to the good parts in life soon leaves him feeling as if he's missing out on the total experience. Only when Michael begins to realize that the he has lost control of his life and the remote is now programming him does he finally learn that life is as much about the moments he'd rather forget as it is the moments he will always remember.

---> another movie from the great actor Adam Sandler and what do you expect? of course a comedy. however, this is not only a funny movie but a very heart warming one too. you'd think that it will be all laughs but this film has a lot of significant points shown. it is mostly about how important life is, how every second matters, how we deal with our everyday life, how we should be able to cope and overcome trials and then eventually, learn from it. this movie even made me cry a bit a couple of times as it approached its ending, the part where he run as he tried to get hold of his family and the part when he was given a chance to see his father one last time. the film truly portrayed the value of a family thus its a good family movie. in fact, its a highly recommended movie for everyone to see. with its great message, excellent actors and an extremely creative story that made a lot of sense.

::: L I N E S :::

DONNA: Will you still love me in the morning?
MICHAEL: Forever and ever, babe.

[Michael was told his father, Ted, died. In his grave, he asks the remote to flashback to the last time he saw him. Flashback: Michael's very busy working and his son, Ben, arrives]
BEN: Hi, Dad. Sorry to bother you. Would you mind looking at my shopping mall design again? This one is cheaper, but... If you check this out, you'll see it has much better natural flow...
MICHAEL: [Flashback-Michael interrupts without having seen his son's project] Cheaper one, like I said. Just, let me do my e-mail.
BEN: Yeah, yeah, you're right. Er...
MICHAEL: [Real Michael] He ain't right. You are a schmark, look at it!
TED: [arrives] Surprise!
BEN: Hey, grandpa!
MICHAEL: [Real Michael sees how old his dad is] Oh, my God...
TED: [hugs Ben] How did you get so handsome?
[to Michael]
TED: So, Michael. I have a wonderful idea. Your mother is going to play canasta with her friends tonight, so I thought: "What a great opportunity". You, me and Ben should go and have a boys night out.
MICHAEL: [Flashback-Michael] I can't.
TED: What do you mean you can't? You have to weak some time. We can go, we can whistle the pretty ladies.
BEN: I'm down for that.
TED: See? He's down. I don't know what that means but he's down.
MICHAEL: [Flashback-Michael] Hey, please.
TED: Don't give me that finger.
[after seeing he's son keeps busy]
TED: I'll make you a deal. If you come, I'll show you the quarter trick.
MICHAEL: [Real Michael] Will you look at the man?
TED: I'll tell you the secret.
MICHAEL: [Flashback-Michael] No, Dad.
TED: Don't you wanna know...?
MICHAEL: ...how you do the stupid trick? I've always known. Can you let me do my job?
TED: [voice braking] You've always known...
MICHAEL: [Real Michael, to Flashback-Michael] You're pathetic.
TED: Okay... I'm so sorry I butched in. I love you son.
BEN: Don't you worry, grandpa. I'll go with you.
[Grandpa starts leaving and cries. Real Michael freezes him, then rewinds the scene to the part Granpa Ted tells Flashback-Michael that he loves him]
MICHAEL: [Real Michael, when he freezes his dad when he's looking at him] I love you dad.
[kisses him in the cheek]
MICHAEL: I'll miss ya... You know that... Good-bye.

MICHAEL: [dying] Family, family... Family comes first.
BEN: [crying] Family comes first.
MICHAEL: Honey... honeymoon
BEN: [still crying] Honeymoon
BEN: I love you.
MICHAEL: Samantha... I didn't make it to 200 but I love you.
SAMANTHA: I love you, Daddy.

MY SASSY GIRL

As the film opens we are introduced to Kyun-woo, a kind-hearted but at times naive college student who seems to keep getting into trouble. On his way home one night he encounters a beautiful but completely smashed young woman who causes a scene in the subway, calls him "honey", and then passes out. With the eyes of the other subway passengers upon him, he has little choice but to take responsibility for her. Thus begins his relationship with the at-times charming, at-times violent damsel who steals his heart.
Much of the film is structured around the bizarre antics of Kyun-woo's newfound girlfriend. After she passes out yet again, Kyun-woo looks at her blissful face and promises to himself that he will save her, and right whatever it is that troubles her. This proves to be much more of a challenge than he expects.

---> this is the first Korean movie i have seen and it really didn't disappoint me a bit. i think this is the Korean movie that started all the great love stories in the Korean film industry and i guess it is the most famous one. this is certainly a splendid movie from the story itself and the performance of the characters and the humor it portrayed. i loved like every single detail about it. its a very touching film as to how the guy struggled with the girl's attitude. she's a person that shows love in a very different way not to mention in a very rude way. she always make the guy suffer physically but still the guy never left. it really showed how great his love is for the girl. i love the time capsule part, the story of the tree, and especially the ending. its a movie that would make you laugh, and cry mostly as it really touches your heart. its a strange kind of love story but definitely a love that is true.

::: LINES :::

GIRL: What do you want to order?
GUY: Cherry Jubilee... wait... I'll have Mango Tango... or Shooting Star... Jamonka Almond sounds good too... Okay, I'll just have Love Me.

If it hurts, act like it doesn't 5. On your 100th day together, give her a rose during her class 6. Make sure you learn fencing and squash 7. Be prepared to go to prison sometimes 8. If she says she'll kill you, don't take it lightly 9. If her feet hurt, exchange shoes with her 10. She likes to write. Encourage her.

A CINDERELLA STORY

Cute but geeky high-school student Samantha Martin (Hilary Duff) is knocked off her feet by her father's untimely death, which leaves his diner and Samantha's well-being in the care of Fiona (Jennifer Coolidge), Sam's thoroughly wicked stepmother. Not one to take on such menial tasks as dishwashing and mopping floors, Fiona exploits Sam's dependence as a method of hoisting any dirty work off her own shoulders. School is hardly a break for Samantha, particularly when Shelby (Julie Gonzalo) is around; spoiled, wealthy, and popular, Shelby treats Samantha nearly as badly as Fiona does. Samantha's life is irrevocably changed, however, by two events: a makeover of epic proportions and a sudden electronic correspondence with a mysterious young man. Due to a misplaced cell phone and a series of fateful coincidences, Samantha and her Prince Charming develop a romance through text messages and e-mails, and ultimately promise to meet face-to-face at the biggest school dance of the year. Of course, getting there doesn't go smoothly, and Samantha may miss her chance to meet her dream date -- none other than Austin (Chad Michael Murray), the most popular boy in school.

---> yes, another fairy tale like movie. and yes i love them. its like a boy meets girl thing and the rest is history. of course, there's a lot of struggle in between but certainly leads to your one and only dream: your happily ever after. this movie is really like the typical Cinderella story having a wicked stepmom, two evil stepsisters and of course the handsome prince charming. its a good movie if you like this type of story like me. its also funny especially having the 2 stepsisters in it cause they are so dumb. but mostly, its a movie that makes you feel in love and makes you wanna love more. a movie that feels like cupid hitting your heart with an arrow. (painful at the beginning but definitely a happy ending).

::: LINES :::

AUSTIN:
Sam! Okay, I know you think I'm just some...
SAM: Coward? Phony?
AUSTIN: Okay, just listen.
SAM: No, you listen. You turned out to be exactly who I thought you were. I never pretended to be somebody else. It's been me all along. And it was me who was hurt in front of everybody. Look, I didn't come here to yell at you, okay? I know what it feels like to be afraid to show who you are. I was. But not anymore. And the thing is, I don't care what people think about me... because I believe in myself. And I know that things are gonna be okay. But even though I have no family, and no job, and no money for college... it's you that I feel sorry for.
DAVID: Heads up! Yo, five minutes.
AUSTIN: I'm coming!
SAM: I know that guy that sent those emails is somewhere inside of you, but, I can't wait for him... because waiting for you is like waiting for rain in this drought. Useless and disappointing.

AUSTIN: [after Brianna and Gabriella both tell him that they're his mystery girl] Ladies, ladies, I can solve this very easily. The girl I'm looking for lost something. What was it?
GABRIELLA: Oh that's easy! A wallet!

[Austin gives her a weird look]
GABRIELLA: I mean a purse... um... a wallet-purse.
AUSTIN: : [succinctly] No.
BRIANNA: Ooh, I know! A fish!

AUSTIN: I can be surrounded by a sea of people and still feel all alone... Then I think of you.

SAM: I'm late
AUSTIN: For what?
SAM: Reality.

E N C H A N T E D

Classic Disney animation meets contemporary urban chaos when a frightened princess is banished from her magical animated homeland to modern-day New York City in a romantic comedy penned by Bill Kelly (Blast from the Past), directed by Kevin Lima (Tarzan), and featuring music by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz. Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) lives in the blissful cartoon world of Andalasia, where magical beings frolic freely and musical interludes punctuate every interaction. Though Princess Giselle is currently engaged to be married to the handsome Prince Edward (James Marsden), her fate takes a turn for the worse when the villainous Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) banishes her to the unforgiving metropolis of New York City. As the cruelty of the big city soon begins to wear down the fairy-tale exterior of the once carefree princess, the frightened Giselle soon finds herself falling for a friendly but flawed divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) whose kind compassion has helped her to survive in this strange and dangerous new world.

---> this is a one sure hilarious movie that everybody would love to watch. it has cartoon characters in it coming to real life. can you imagine that happening in our own world? it would really be chaotic and for sure weird. but erase those thoughts cause watching this movie would make you smile. well, for me that is. i loved the impact of the movie to me. of how after watching it made me forget my problems. it makes you wanna be like the ever innocent Giselle who is like a child who doesn't know much about life. well maybe just for a moment, to have that short period of time to escape from this cruel and problematic world. its a worth watching movie, it's funny and who wouldn't want an hour and 48 minutes of a happy ending fairy tale. plus, the soundtracks are good too.

::: LINES :::

GISELLE: Is that the only word you know? "No?"
ROBERT: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I mean, No!
GISELLE:"No! No! No!" Over and over! When you keep saying "No!" it just makes me so... Sometimes you make me so!... angry.
[laughs really hard]

GISELLE:[after leaving the shower] Good morning, Robert. I hope you had wonderful dreams.
ROBERT: I think I'm still in one.

GISELLE:Now if only I can find a place to rest my head for the night.
ROBERT: What kind of place?
GISELLE:I don't know. Maybe a nearby meadow or a hollow tree.
ROBERT: A hollow tree?
GISELLE:Or a house full of dwarves. I hear they're very hospitable.

[an angry midget runs under Giselle's dress]
GRUMPY: Hey! Watch it, will ya?
GISELLE:Grumpy!
GRUMPY: Geez, lady! Are you for real?
GISELLE:I-I think so.

GISELLE:Nobody has been very nice to me.
ROBERT: Yeah, well, welcome to New York.
GISELLE: Thank you.

ROBERT: Oh my.
GISELLE: Oh my. He's here!
ROBERT: Apparently.
GISELLE: Oh my. Oh my goodness. How do I look?
ROBERT: Slightly stunned.
GISELLE: No, I mean, how do I look? [mean her appearance]
ROBERT: You look... beautiful.

[talking about Giselle]
SAM: She has no driver's license, no passport, I can't even find this place she comes from.
ROBERT: What place?
SAM: Andalusia.
ROBERT: Andalasia.
SAM: Whatever. I've called every travel agent. I'm not sure if it's a country or a city.
ROBERT: It can't be a state.
[Both watch Giselle acting strangely]
SAM: More like a state of mind. She told me it's just beyond the meadows of joy and the valley of contentment. What is that all about?

A WALK TO REMEMBER

In Beaufort, North Carolina, a prank on a student goes terribly wrong and puts the student in the hospital. Landon Carter, a popular student with no defined plans for the future, is held responsible and forced to participate in after-school community service activities as punishment, which include starring as the lead in the school play. Also participating in these activities is Jamie Sullivan, the reverend's daughter who has great ambitions and nothing in common with Landon. When Landon decides he wants to take his activities seriously, he asks Jamie for help and begins to spend most of his time with her. But he starts to develop strong feelings for her, something he did not expect to do. The two start a relationship, much to the chagrin of Landon's old popular friends and Jamie's strict reverend father. But when a heart-breaking secret becomes known that puts their relationship to the test, it is then that Landon and Jamie realize the true meaning of love and fate.

---> its a very touching film as to how a couple who are worlds apart fell in love. many are not happy with their relationship but still they managed to survive despite this complexity. they have learned a lot from each other most importantly of which is that love is not selfish. i think the climax of the story is when Landon starts to fall in love with Jamie but discovers that she has a life threatening illness. from then on, the story became more dramatic, full of emotions but showed a very powerful picture of what true love is. and i guess everybody wants that so this film is a sure win to people who are inlove and to those people who are still looking for that kind of love.

::: LINES :::

JAMIE: You know what I figured out today?
LANDON: What?
JAMIE:Maybe God has a bigger plan for me than I had for myself. Like this journey never ends. Like you were sent to me because I'm sick. To help me through all this. You're my angel

JAMIE:You’re acting like a crazy person, what's going on?
LANDON: Right now, you're straddling the state line.
JAMIE:OK...
LANDON: You're in two places at once.

LANDON: I'm sorry she never got her miracle.
REVEREND SULLIVAN: She did. It was you.

LANDON: Jamie... I love you. [long pause]
LANDON: Now would be the time to say something.
JAMIE:I told you not to fall in love with me.

LANDON: Do you love me? [she nods]
LANDON: Will you do something for me, then?
JAMIE: [smiles] Anything.
LANDON: Will you marry me?
[Jamie smiles and kisses him]

JAMIE: I'm sick.
LANDON: I'll take you home. You'll be be...
JAMIE: No. Landon! I'm sick. I have Leukemia.
LANDON: No. You're 18. You - you're perfect.
JAMIE: No. I found out two years ago and I've stopped responding to treatments.
LANDON: So why didn't you tell me?
JAMIE: The doctor said I should go on and live life normally as best I could. I - I didn't want anybody to be weird around me.
LANDON: Including me?
JAMIE: Especially you! [Jamie looks down] [Landon gets upset]
JAMIE: Ya know, I was getting along with everything fine. I accepted it, and then you happened! I do not need a reason to be angry with God.

LANDON: So, what's your number one?
JAMIE:To marry in the church my mother grew up. It's where my parents were married.

JAMIE: You don't know the first thing about being someone's friend.
LANDON: I don't want to just be your friend.
JAMIE: You don't know what you want.
LANDON: Neither do you. Maybe you're just too scared that someone might actually want to be with you.
JAMIE: And why would that scare me?
LANDON: Because then you wouldn't be able to hide behind your books, or your frickin' telescope, or your faith. No, no, you know the real reason why you're scared? It's cause you wanna be with me too.

S T E P M O M

Anna and Ben, the two children of Jackie and Luke, have to cope with the fact that their parents divorced and that there is a new woman in their father's life: Isabel, a successful photographer. She does her best to treat the kids in a way that makes them still feel at home when being with their dad, but also loves her work and does not plan to give it up. But Jackie, a full-time mother, regards Isabel's efforts as offensively insufficient. She can't understand that work can be important to her as well as the kids. The conflict between them is deepened by the sudden diagnose of cancer, which might may be deadly for Jackie. They all have to learn a little in order to grow together.

---> this is totally a dramatic movie as two women struggle for their life. one, being the ever protective and loving mother who is also trying to survive from a fatal illness and the other as to be the stepmom who is so cheerful and energetic. its highly emotional as to how Julia tries to fit in and be a "mom" knowingly that she can never replace Susan. on the other hand for Susan, it's hard that soon she'll leave her kids not to mention to someone who has no experience in handling kids. its a movie that will really touch your hearts and end you up in tears. it has an excellent cast with two of the most sought actresses, great acting and story which brings a lot of lessons about life itself.

::: LINES :::

ISABEL: You know every story, every wound, every memory. Their whole life's happiness is wrapped up in you... every single second. Don't you get it? Look down the road to her wedding. I'm in a room alone with her, fixing her veil, fluffing her dress, telling her no woman has ever looked so beautiful. And my fear is she'll be thinking, "I wish my mom was here."
JACKIE HARRISON: And mine is... she won't.

BEN HARRISON: Mommy...
JACKIE HARRISON: What, sweetie?
BEN HARRISON: If you want me to hate her I will.

BEN HARRISON: [to Isabel] Will you sing me a song? My mom always sings to me when I get hurt.

ONE MORE CHANCE

Popoy (John Lloyd Cruz) and Basha (Bea Alonzo) have been together all their lives. Their love story started when they met as students in the university. Their families loved them, they shared friends, they eventually worked in the same firm and their life plans revolved around each other. There is no Popoy without a Basha and vice versa. They were certain that they will get married someday and build a home together. Everything seems perfect. At least that’s what Popoy thinks. But all the planning and dreaming eventually took a toll on Basha. Past issues and current controversies suddenly become the main fare in what would have been a routine lunch date. In their first major fight in over five years, Popoy and Basha begin their heart-rending struggle whether to hold on or to move on.

---> this is a Filipino movie and i would have to say that i am so proud of it. actually, i really love the team up of these two artists. their tandem is always great and the outcome of their movies is excellent. this movie is the best from all their other movies. this has reached another level of their acting careers. it was more of a matured love story. a story about major heartbreaks, moving on, taking risks and falling inlove all over again. this was a serious movie but also had funny parts in between. the acting was superb, you can really feel their emotions from being jealous, angry and heartbroken. all in all, the movie was outstanding.

----> you can go to this LINK for its trailer (it has lots of memorable quotes in it. ) it has also some of my favorite parts: the scene where popoy fetched basha cause it was raining hard only to find out his new girlfriend was in the car too; the time when popoy met basha's new officemate where he started a fight. and many many more. . . .

WIN A DATE WITH TAD HAMILTON

In "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton!," Kate Bosworth stars as Rosalee Futch, a grocery clerk living in rural West Virginia. But even a small-town girl can have big dreams, and Rosalee's is to someday ... somehow ... meet her big-screen idol Tad Hamilton (Duhamel). The "somehow" arrives in the form of a contest -- the grand prize: a date with Tad Hamilton -- and the "someday" is now. Rosalee wins, much to the chagrin of her best friend and co-worker Pete (Grace), who is deeply, hopelessly -- and secretly -- in love with Rosalee. The "Win a Date" contest was cooked up by Tad's agent, Richard Levy (Nathan Lane), and his manager, also named Richard Levy (Sean Hayes), to clean up Tad's bad-boy image. Someone should have told them to be careful what you wish for. When Tad meets Rosalee and gets a taste of what he's been missing in the "real world", he decides he wants seconds and moves to West Virginia, turning Rosalee's dream come true into a nightmare for Richard Levy, and, most of all, Pete.

---> this movie is really one of my favorites. its cute, romantic and funny as well. i like the best friend part who is so much inlove but who is so much afraid of admitting it. i dont know why but i kind of want a guy best friend in real life not necessarily the in love part. this film sure is a good chick-flick. it's hilarious as Pete tries to impress Rosalee as he competes with Tad Hamilton which is obviously impossible in a lot of ways. but of course, all these chick-flicks always end with happy endings. i love the "6 smiles" part. its really touching when you think about it, that someone knows you have this different smiles for different situations. it would just so mean he/she is so into you. all the actors did well, and are perfect for each of their roles especially Tad Hamilton. he has this great smile and body which is really perfect for his "matinee idol" part which is so intimidating for Pete.

::: LINES :::

PETE: Tad Hamilton is an actor. How do you know he's not acting with you?

TAD: Yeah, Pete told me if I ever hurt you; that he would tear me to pieces with his bare hands or with his rhetoric.
ROSALEE: Pete told you if you hurt me, he would tear you to pieces with his bare hands or with his rhetoric? That is so... adorable.

PETE: [to Tad] Like do you know she has six smiles? One when something really makes her laugh. One when she's making plans. One when she is laughing out of politeness. One when she is uncomfortable. One when she is making fun of herself. And one when... she's talking about her friends.

ROSALEE: You have five smiles Pete. One when you think someone's an idiot. One when you think someone's REALLY an idiot. One when you're singing to Barry White. One when you're getting all dressed up. And one when you're looking at me.

ANGELICA: Well is it love, big love, or great love?
PETE: What do you mean?
ANGELICA: Well, love you get over in two months, big love you get over in two years, and great love, well great love... changes your life. So which one is it?
[Pete laughs and takes a big gulp out of his drink]
ANGELICA: Oh my god, it's great love.
PETE: Yeah, that just great.

ANGELICA: Well you got to win her back.
PETE: Believe me I have tried everything.
ANGELICA: Well what did she say, when you told her you loved her?
PETE: Ok maybe not everything.
ANGELICA: How did she react, when you kissed her?
PETE: Ok, maybe only two things.

PETE: [kisses Rosie] I love you, Rosie. I *always* have. If I've been a jerk this last week, it's because I've been fighting - I've been fighting for you. I don't want to lose you to Tad Hamilton, or anyone else. You're the one.

PETE: I'm telling you, she is more of a treasure than you could possibly know. She is not just some wholesome, small town girl, some like, good for you breath of fresh air. Tad, she is a wonderful person with a huge heart. And the kind of beauty that a guy only sees once, you know? Once! So Tad, if there is even a chance that you could break her heart, please, just for her sake, walk away man.
TAD: I could never break Rosalee's heart, ok?
PETE: Good. Because if you do I swear to God I will tear you to pieces with my bare hands. Or vicious rhetoric.
TAD: You're a good guy Pete.
PETE: Well yes. Apparently not good enough.

ROSALEE: I can't go with you Tad, because you don't love me, you maybe want to love me. But I think what you love right now is the idea of me. You can't love someone for what they stand for or seem to be. You have to love them for their details, for the little things that are true of them and only them.

SHE'S THE MAN

Viola Johnson (Amanda Bynes) had her own good reasons for disguising herself as her twin brother Sebastian (James Kirk) and enrolling in his place at his new boarding school, Illyria Prep. She was counting on Sebastian being AWOL from school as he tried to break into the music scene in London. What she didn't count on was falling in love with her hot roommate, Duke (Channing Tatum), who in turn only has eyes for the beautiful Olivia (Laura Ramsey). Making matters worse, Olivia is starting to fall for Sebastian, who - for reasons Olivia couldn't begin to guess - appears to be the sensitive type of guy she'd always dreamed of meeting. If things weren't complicated enough, the real Sebastian has come back from London two days earlier than expected and arrives on campus having no clue that he's been replaced... by his own twin sister.

---> this movie never fails me everytime i watch it. it really makes me laugh even if i already know what will happen. amanda bynes has good romantic movies all the time. i think comedy is really her forte when it comes to acting. this movie maybe stupid in a sense that a girl is disguised as a boy but that same thing makes it simply brilliant. its really funny and i guess ill never get tired of watching and laughing over and over again.

:::: LINES ::::

VIOLA: So, what brings you here?
DUKE: Well, a few days ago I kissed this girl at a kissing booth. And now, I just can't seem to stop thinking about it.
VIOLA: Neither can she.
DUKE: Plus, I miss my roommate. I really liked him.
VIOLA: Well, he's right in here. [pointing to her heart]
VIOLA: Listen, I know I should have told you who I was, but I was afraid. I'm Sorry.
DUKE: Well, you know maybe if I had know you were a girl, we wouldn't have talked like we did, and got to know each other the same way. And that would've been a shame.
VIOLA: Just so you know, everything you told me when I was a guy, just made me like you so much more as a girl.
DUKE: Ok, but just from here on in, everything would just be a lot easier if you stayed a girl.

::: some funny lines/parts :::

DUKE: [Using one of Viola's tampons after getting into a fight with Justin at the carnival] Oh, yeah, I uh, borrowed one of your... yeah... and you're right, they really do work.
VIOLA: Oh my god you're hurt... [clears throat]
VIOLA: I mean, suck it up, be a man and rub some dirt on it
DUKE: Okay, I'll rub some dirt in it..

DUKE: Um, uh, ok, so, should I ask her out?
VIOLA: No. You don't want to freak her out; you've got to have a casual conversation first, hello?
[Duke looks away in frustration]
VIOLA: Why do I get the feeling you don't do this very often?
DUKE: Man, I just, I'm not really good at talking to girls.
VIOLA: Why? You're hot!
DUKE: What?
VIOLA: [clears throat] Ya know, you're an appealing guy- man- guy- guy man.

VIOLA: What does your heart tell you?
DUKE: What?
VIOLA: I mean... which one would you rather see NAKED ?

MONIQUE: Hey, what's that over there?
[points to her far left]
KIA: [follows Monique's finger]
PAUL: Kia, don't look.
KIA: [turns away]
